Preserving the heritage assets.

Situated within the Withington Conservation Area and the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the Stone Cottage needed a mindful and delicate intervention to help the house freshen its inner space while sensibly respecting the character and distinctive appearance of the locality.

The proposed design included an extension to the rear of the property overlooking the garden, which provided extra space for the living room and the utility area, aiming to enhance the living conditions of the dwelling.

The proposed façade materials were prudently specified to be Cotswolds stone and timber to tie it to the existing massing.

The minor works and the nature of the development emphasised the awareness of the architecture team to sustain and preserve the heritage assets.
