Shurdington Community Centre

Transforming communities.
Our approach in the public sector reflects the aim to transform communities by putting design in the service of public good. The example of the Shurdington Community Centre represents the way we responded to the task of creating a new performance stage while remodelling the main hall of the building.
The extension also created other rooms which complete the stage’s auxiliary spaces and provided improved facilities for an empowered, more inclusive community.

One of the design objectives was the creation of a connection with the rear open courtyard as a place of gathering and enjoyment.
Keeping sustainability as a generator of good design, we proposed several solar panels, taking advantage of the southwest-facing orientation of the roof.
